Taqueria San Bruno’s menu reads like a love letter to classic Mexican dishes. Their celebrated Fish Al Pastor and Carne Asada Tacos burst with juicy, expertly seasoned meat and perfectly charred tortillas, while the Wet Plate Burrito offers a decadent, saucy experience that melts in your mouth. The popular Super Burritos, whether stuffed with savory carne asada or tender shrimp, are generously portioned and come bursting with fresh rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, and their special house sauce.
But what truly elevates the dining experience here is their lively salsa bar—a spicy, colorful playground of homemade salsas that add endless layers of flavor to every bite. Chips and salsa alone are worth a visit, especially with the perfectly crispy, freshly fried tortilla chips that serve as the ideal vehicle for their dynamic guacamole and rich, smoky salsas.
Beyond the signature burritos and tacos, the extensive meat options stand out—from tender tripas and flavorful carnitas to the uniquely satisfying lengua and succulent camaron. Each bite offers a delicious interplay of textures and memorable savory notes that reveal the kitchen’s mastery of authentic Mexican cooking techniques.
Customers consistently rave about their experience at Taqueria San Bruno, often emphasizing the generous protein fillings and the perfect balance of spice and freshness. One visitor noted that the Al Pastor tacos with bits of pineapple deliver a sweet-savory harmony that’s hard to find elsewhere. Another praised the staff’s thoughtful recommendations, which turned a veggie burrito into a standout meal filled with fajita veggies and mushrooms, enriching the texture and flavor profile.

Now living in NYC, I’m deprived of good Mexican food. Always a treat coming to Taqueria San Bruno. Kudos to the staff (pretty blonde lady), who was smiley and pleasant, and as we came around late lunch our wait from time of order to receiving food was about 15minutes. As the early dinner crowd was picking up, she was letting customers know about the wait (25-30min) which I thought was a nice touch, letting customers manage their expectations. Love the chips and salsa, got 3 tacos especial (Carnitas, Carne Asada & Shrimp), and the bf got the carne asada quesadilla, which he couldn’t finish! All delicious flavors, generous portions, nice char on the carne asada and flavorful and crisp carnitas!
Se4vice was awesome! The gentleman who delivered our order to the table, tall guy was cheerful. energetic and hr helpful. Got two tacos, chicken and carnitas. The carnitas tasted good and had some crispy ends. The amount of protein on each taco was a lot. I was full off of two tacos and their house tortilla chips. The sauce bar was really good too.
Wow! These burritos are probably the best we’ve ever had. We got the Al Pastor and Veggie burritos. The Al Pastor was a bit sweeter than other places, with pineapple bits in it. Cristina went above and beyond to make the veggie burrito shine with fajita veggies and mushrooms, and even suggested we try sliced avocados instead of guacamole for a better texture. Will be regulars here!
If you land in SFO and you want some amazing authentic Mexican food within range THIS IS THE SPOT! Neighborhood place, super friendly staff, and the food is delicious!! I recently ordered the steak and shrimp quesadillas (pictured) for the first time but the tacos and burritos are !
Highly recommend the super burrito! It’s juicy, creamy, and the portion size is perfect. I usually can't finish a whole burrito, but I ate every bite of this one. The tacos were great too
Stumbled upon this charming taqueria while searching for taqueria's we haven't been to yet. There was little parking and a line out the door which I thought was a good sign that this place was going to be amazing. Other people have said it and they're right. The salsa bar is loaded with delicious, fresh salsa. I loved the salsa verde the most of all. I got three tacos al pastor and crushed them as soon as they weren't too hot to hold. I washed it all down with a small Horchata and walked away a fan. Thanks y'all
Ordered over the phone and the order was made quick. It was ready by the time we arrived. They misheard that I wanted an extra burrito similar to one of the other ones but they were super nice about it and prioritized making the extra burrito. Super friendly and cared about the customer. Salsa bar was cool and the vibe was nice. Burritos were huge and delicious. This was a great spot and I’m planning to visit a lot more. Value and service 5/5
The food tasted so so, quantities were very large. The fish was good but had very homely small town vibes. Enjoyed it. Oh also that gave us sooo many chips (they could see the hunger on my face I guess haha) oh the dips were really good for me. Good eat.
